Hoyt Wayne Axton (March 25, 1938 – October 26, 1999) was an American country music singer, songwriter, and a film and television actor. He appeared on Season 4 of the long-running PBS music program Austin City Limits in 1979. This was the only time, he appeared on the show. he also played Randall Peltzer in the first Gremlins film. He was supposed to get a cameo in Gremlins 2 and bring Billy a new rain-coat he invented to protect Gizmo from getting wet, but the scene was never filmed because the producers didn't think they needed it.
