Betty (known as Linda Jones in the novelization) is Daniel Clamp's personal secretary. She is seen sitting at her work desk in the reception area outside Mr. Clamp's office of Clamp Center.

Gremlins 2: The New Batch[]
A deft multitasker, Betty was taking lunch at her desk while shredding Mr. Clamp's mail when Mr. Clamp decided to dictate a memo to her, which she began typing on an Apple Macintosh SE. As the gremlins invaded the building, one of them, the Secretary Gremlin snuck up to her desk and inserted a small, loaded mousetrap into her sandwich, onto which she unknowingly bit. It snapped in her mouth, causing her to scream in pain. Mr. Clamp came to investigate, whereupon he found the gremlin sitting at her computer with her red scarf around him. She disappeared after the mousetrap incident, she presumably ran to get medical attention and released the mousetrap from her injured mouth.
Her novelization counterpart is named Linda Jones, and is stated to be blonde and have a habit for gum-chewing. The novelization also provides numerous references to her attractiveness, and she is implied to be quite vain. She is ambushed by Mohawk instead of the Secretary Gremlin in this version, who not only sneaks a mousetrap into her sandwich, but then jumps onto her desk and scares her. As with the movie, her exact fate after this is unknown, as Clamp hears her scream and quickly rushes into the room to find Mohawk wearing her sweater at her desk.
